Ned's Fund.
Ned took his own life on the railway line at Witley Station on 17th July 2017; he was 20. Ned was bright, courageous, funny, a natural sportsman, a brilliant skier and snowboarder, a wonderful brother and a much loved and cherished son. He was remarkable.
Ned and education just did not work; he was understimulated and, as a result, disruptive. He spent most of the day excluded from the classroom. Ned left school and home at an early age, without direction. He estranged himself from his family. Looking forward, we can’t change the past, but we want to do as much as possible to give young people, like Ned, hope for a happy and purposeful future. Over the past seven years Ned’s Fund has raised over £100,000 to support charities that provide vocational opportunities to young people who have not yet found their path in life. |
You can see all the amazing work that the fund has helped achieve in the Making a Difference section. This year has been the seventh anniversary. Not a day goes by that we do not think of Ned and have him in our hearts and with everything that is going on in the world right now, mental well-being and health is just so important. We are so grateful to everyone that has supported Ned's Fund over these last seven years. With your help, we have been able to make an incredible difference to a number of young people's lives. We have been able to see young people like Ned enjoy adventure and life such as snowboarding, sailing, and agricultural work. They may never have been given these opportunities if it wasn't for you. We are also enormously grateful to our amazing fundraisers who have shown a continuous effort in supporting Ned's Fund throughout the years. You are very much appreciated. We are constantly thinking of fun, positive and exciting fundraising events to raise awareness for Ned and mental health and we would love to hear any of your suggestions. Please feel free to reach out, and again, thank you. We hope you stay safe and well. |
